Provincial Drug Strategy or Framework

The development and promotion of Manitoba’s Framework for Addressing the Harms Associated with Alcohol and Other Drugs is being led by Manitoba Healthy Living and is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2007. The Manitoba Framework provides a set of guidelines for Manitobans to address the harms related to alcohol and other drug use.  It is in keeping with the province’s unique nuances and communities and strongly recognizes Manitoba's ethnic diversity. The Manitoba Framework is based on the four pillars of prevention, treatment, policing and enforcement, and harm reduction. The Framework Development Working Group is represented by the following organizations:

  • Manitoba Healthy Living
  • Addictions Foundation of Manitoba
  • Regional Health Authorities —Mental Health Representative
  • Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth
