Profile of Post-Secondary Addiction Programs in Canada

In 2007, to gain a better understanding of the kinds of educational opportunities offered at the post-secondary level in the field of addictions, the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA) compiled a Profile of Post-Secondary Addiction Programs in Canada. This report examined various program characteristics, including program duration, admission requirements and format, as well as level of accreditation and options for specializations.

College and University Substance Abuse Programs Database

The College and University Substance Abuse Programs Database, created and maintained by the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA), helps you find educational opportunities across Canada. Some are offered through distance or online learning. The database contains graduate, post-graduate, diploma and certificate programs offered by Canadian universities and colleges.

Each listing contains information about the program including:

  • Course titles
  • Admission requirements
  • Program duration

There are approximately 50 listings included in the database—a valuable resource for individuals who are considering a career in the substance abuse field. For more information, see Career Planning.
